Confirmed from Guadalupe River Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Guadalupe River Trail

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (23 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🌳 shaded & cool 3 mentions

“Good for a morning run or evening walk, but with relatively no shade, it’s not that good experience during mid day.”

The best. The trail is spacious and can handle a lil bit of crowd too. There are two paths running in parallel on either side of the river, both allow two way traffic. One path is unpaved and the other is of asphalt. Watch out for bikers, they usually signal their position with bells or shouts.

Connecting multiple neighborhoods and industrial areas, this trail is good for both exercise and commuting to work for some. Good for a morning run or evening walk, but with relatively no shade, it’s not that good experience during mid day.

★★★★★ — Kan , May 2023

I think this trail is the most stunning in the neighborhood. The scent of wet soil and flowers after the rain is simply captivating. Although it would be even more enjoyable if there were some shade

★★★★★ — Berfin , May 2023

Nice trail for walking, running or cycling. The trail is paved with a very nice view over the Guadalupe river and many types of trees and plants. The loop between Tasman drive and River Oaks Bridge is about 3 mile which makes a good walking workout.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🏞️ Scenic views 5 mentions

“No views as such, but the trail has a nature preserve kinda thing somewhere in between (watch out for poison oak over there)”
