Beautiful hike! Super close to the Fabyan Forest Preserve / Japanese Gardens (less than one minute drive). I liked this spot a lot better as it was much less busy than the other known trails. Wouldn’t recommend bringing kids in strollers as the paths are gravely and muddy.
The forest preserve and Catholic Grotto are behind the Kane County government building. Beautiful trails and Grotto.
Cool hiking trails by the water! The grotto was neat! I have never seen one before.
Very peaceful. Kind of overlooked park and a bit secluded. You have to take it on faith the path you walk on is the right one but either friction is beautiful. Choose the path to the right to get to the grotto and just keep going. It's worth the walk, and continuing past the grotto is serene and beautiful as well.
