We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Harry Griffen Park yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Green space with jogging path, picnic & play areas & off-leash dog run, plus free summer concerts.
What runners say about Harry Griffen Park
“Awsome park nice trails clean play area there's even a concert or performing area”
“Very beautiful views, and nature's all around.”
“My dog LOVES coming here, this is a great park to take and walk the dogs.”
Today we took our 3 kiddos and my grandson here to play. There were several difference family gatherings at the park, such a nice sight to see. Our little ones (11, 04, 04, 02) had fun until a group of snotty nosed unsupervised (parents watch your kids) girls (jr high age) started to mock and bully all the little ones…
Finally was able to visit this park, and my toddlers loved it!! Lots of room to run, jump, and ride thier little carts with. Very beautiful views, and nature's all around. The park has mini trails, an amphitheater, a dog park towards the back, and a large playground.
During the summer months on Sunday evenings at 6 pm, various local bands perfom. Parking is tight, so arrive early or be prepared to walk several blocks. Picnicking, labels, playground. Amphitheater and trails with you. Oh, excellent bathrooms too.
While visiting friends in San Diego, I needed a place to do my daily walk. I found this park very close to the Airbnb home I was renting. I walked here every morning for a week. It's a very beautiful park..serene..I'd love to go back❤
Trail conditions & character
“We decided to move on over to the nearby dog park where the animals running loose behaved more civilized than the kids on the playground.”
“Not a bad view of the musicians from anywhere in the park.”
“Tons of people there enjoying picnics, memorial services, birthday parties, canine obedience classes, and still plenty of room and parking for more!”
“Parking was good, there is a bathroom, and it's just a beautiful place over all.”
