Confirmed from Hawthorne Ridge Recreation Area's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Hawthorne Ridge Recreation Area

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (89 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

This is a great park for bike riders, sk8ers, and inline skates. There's a paved course that is visible from the Drive, and a dirt/wood plank course that's around back, as well as hiking/biking trails through the woods.

This is a fun session especially on bike. You aim yo get the hang of speeding through by pumping and peddling while riding the copes and knolls to the max. Super fun and every round you take gets addicting. Never too busy but there are days of overcrowded. Comes with territory. Give this course a run. Bikes work best.

This park is a heaven for children who loves bicycling in another word is BMX bike park. There are whoop-dee-doo, berms, and tunnels to play on. Picnic tables, Pavilion (need reservation to use), and restroom are available here. There is also access to hiking trails. Accessible Parking and restroom ♿

Visited the free dog park with my pup.. Very large area and decently kept. My suggestion would be to wear bug repellant tho. It's off the gravel road by a walking trail. Couldn't stay long because I was unprepared to be eaten alive by mosquitos.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
