Confirmed from Hazel Bazemore -Calallen Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Lovely place! There is a deck for hawk observation, but there is also a handicap accessible ramp to do some bird watching. I've seen cardinals, green jays, hummingbirds, deer, turtles, ducks, a family of javelinas and a bobcat.

We live in Corpus Christi which is fairly close by and we visit alot. Sometimes just for a relaxing drive, sometimes for a hike and sometimes to play at the park. Feels like your way out in the middle of nowhere when your actually near the hubbub of the town.

Such a great park to take your family or pets. There is a great paved loop to walk around, several bird watching areas, and it is well maintained. Do I find it weird that people just drive around and never get out of their cars? Yes. Oh well.

★★★★★ — Kelsey , May 2019

Nice park with lots of picnic tables, a observation deck and a couple of smaller lookout areas. They're working on a brand new play area that looks like it's going to be awesome. Looks like they've recently updated the boat ramp area. There may be a couple of walking trails, but I didn't check those out.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
