Confirmed from Heard Farm Wayland MA's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Tranquil, grassy preserve featuring wooded areas and water access that’s popular for dog-walking.
What runners say about Heard Farm Wayland MA
“Great views, great walks, dog-friendly.”
“• There isn’t much shade along the narrow trails, so we were grateful to have hats and made sure to pause in shaded spots for the pups, especially in the summer heat.”
“All but one of the dogs we saw were friendly and obedient too.”
I really loved walking around with my dog! This place is mainly several open fields, which are great to play in with a frisbee or ball, and there is enough space to see others coming (important since all dogs are off leash and due to covid). All but one of the dogs we saw were friendly and obedient too.
This is the perfect place to walk with my dogs and grandkids! We only meet very nice and friendly people and dogs there.
Heard Farm is truly breathtaking, like something out of the book Braiding Sweetgrass. My photos don’t do it justice. A few notes: • The summer bugs and mosquitoes are relentless, so definitely come prepared with repellent.
Beautiful trail in Wayland. Great for photographers! Only gave it 4 stars because a LOT of dogs are brought here (so there is a LOT of doggie doo - be careful!). Otherwise a beautiful spot!
Trail conditions & character
“Update as of December 20, 2020: Unfortunately, Wayland is enacting a leash law so it's a bit risky if you want to allow your dogs to run around.”
“• There isn’t much shade along the narrow trails, so we were grateful to have hats and made sure to pause in shaded spots for the pups, especially in the summer heat.”
“I also suggest going when google suggests the park will not be busy, as there is only a small parking lot and signs are posted to not park on the street.”
