We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Hellbender Preserve yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Hellbender Preserve
“Very nice scenic trail for walking, wildlife viewing, and photography!”
“Such a nice and peaceful hike.”
Really well taken care of trail that walks you through the history of the railway, its workers, and the bridge and tunnel here. The tunnel is kind of spooky; bring a flashlight!
Very nice scenic trail for walking, wildlife viewing, and photography!
BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL! Did I mention this area and trail are beautiful? I highly recommend taking a stroll here...whether you are alone and want some "me time" and peace, with your romantic partner, with your kids, with your best friend(s)....whatever the situation....this place is PERFECT!
Very fun trail with great sights and a cool tunnel. Stroller friendly!
