Confirmed from Hempstead Harbor Shoreline Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Hempstead Harbor Shoreline Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (25 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 6 mentions

“Started at the beach park, run 8 kilometers round trip on a beautiful morning.”

🌳 shaded & cool 3 mentions

“Pretty trail with shade and sun, rest stops along the water and nice native plants.”

🌾 quiet & peaceful 3 mentions

“Peaceful, beautiful nature trail.”

A 4 - mile out and back trail along the waterfront, however the trail is through the woods with gazebo stops to look out to the water. Tons of bunnies, fiddler crabs, an Osprey, and geese. Easy, flat and well maintained although a little buggy.

★★★★★ — Roni , Jun 2023

Love this place! Started at the beach park, run 8 kilometers round trip on a beautiful morning. It's a nice place for everyone to take a walk, run, or even just have a seat in Pavillion watching the beautiful harbor view. Strong recommended!

★★★★★ — Tracy , Nov 2020

Pretty trail with shade and sun, rest stops along the water and nice native plants. Mostly flat, with gravel or wood chips, not a biking trail or carriage friendly. Need to pay parking fee of $15.

★★★★☆ — Kathy , Jun 2021

Went hiking for 2 hours. It was a great experience. Saw and captured pictures of Beautiful wild animals.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
