Confirmed from Heritage Trail Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Community fixture with a playground, basketball courts and picnic areas.
What runners say about Heritage Trail Park
“The picnic shelter has decent shade and the basketball courts are in good shape.”
Small park with a large dog playground and children’s play area. The proximity to the rail trail is nice too! The downsides are that there are no restroom facilities and the park is adjacent to a power station.
Good community park with playgrounds, dog park, and attached trails. Shade is limited during the day. Some shade structures are not set up in a way to get shade under them at available benches, especially in dog park. Coming by closer to twilight generally solves most shade issues.
This is the start of the Zionsville Rail Trail. Parking is limited to about a dozen cars, so plan ahead. The trail is ~3.5 miles one way, and takes you into downtown Zionsville. Please for the sake of community let’s keep this club going!
Great Park now a connection on the Rail Trail so you can go anywhere on it from here. Dog park, playground, hammock park, community garden, cornhole, bocce ball court, basketball court. Wonderful stop.
