Confirmed from Herman Baker Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Vast wooded setting with a 34-acre lake, a 1.5-mi. nature trail system & numerous picnic tables.
What runners say about Herman Baker Park
“This is a peaceful place and truly beautiful, very clean and well kept.”
“Beautiful park, nice trail around the lake, and after the hike, we sat on the benches and the Geese and Squirrels walked right up to us and said "Hello"”
“Even though the park is less than an hour away from DFW, you can still enjoy the feeling of getting away from the hustle and bustle because the trail was so serene and peaceful.”
I'm visiting my sister and walked this trail around the lake. It was beautiful but there are some spots to watch out for. These trails can be walked alone but take something with you. There are lots of places that people can hide and sneak up on you.
Though it was my first time visiting this park I very much enjoyed my experience there. Benches are scattered around the trail, so taking a break is really easy. I also noticed a lot of flowers along the way, very beautiful. They smell nice as well.
Hidden gem. Rangers keep it well kept. Paths are easy to follow.Trees are unique. Water is clean. Frogs and Canadian Geese were a welcoming site. Loved the Mallards. Restroom was clean and yet efficient.
Love this little gem in Sherman! Nice clean gorgeous park. Nice trails, great for dog walking, fishing, or bird watching. Theres benches throughout the trails, as well as some picnic tables and a restroom at the front by the parking lot.
