Confirmed from Herman Covey Wildlife Management Area's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

ScenicQuiet

Quiet area featuring a river for boating and kayaking, as well as trout fishing, hiking, and wildlife.

Drove by hundreds of times, finally curiosity got the best of me. I'm glad I stopped and took a 2 hour hike. never realized so much was back there.

Nice scenic spot right on the Swift. I remember as a kid jumping into the river off the bridge when it was shut down for decades! Kind of crazy to see it open after all that time! But its a cool area just to walk around, get into the water for a cool down, or throw your boat in for some fishing or paddling around!

Beautiful area. Fish, canoe, kayak, hike, sit and take in the natural beauty of this special place. Pack it in and pack it out! Let’s keep the unspoiled wonder of the place. Enjoy!

Fishing, boating, hiking, bird watching... Very peaceful place, with plenty to do.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
