Confirmed from Herman Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Public park with tennis courts, a train, playground, picnic areas, and a library.

“Absolutely beautiful place you guys have turned this park into very lovely ❤️❤️🙏”
Until the end of October, the train runs for $1 on Saturdays and Sundays until 5 pm. The Kiwanis are great. They have a discount for the special population. It could be an outing to help the day fo by. This is a very clean park and perfect for pictures.
Beautiful park with many areas to picnic and sit and watch the squirrels. Awesome children's playground and tennis and handball courts. Lots of shade. Great place to walk your dog. Kiwanis miniature train is here.
Good place for kids to run around and wear down their energy. With a bonus, the library isn't to far from there so if they get to hot the library has a/c

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
- At the trailheadwater — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
