We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Historic Railroad Hiking Trail Head yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Historic Railroad Hiking Trail Head
“We had a beautiful day for the hike and the parking, trails and fellow hikers all contributed to a great time.”
“Nice easy hike with some beautiful views of Lake Mead and some railroad history.”
Nice fun walk down a cool trail alongside the higher portion of lake Mead. Great views of the lake from here and the old train tunnels were fun to walk through. We saw a lot of people riding bikes there as well so be aware if you're walking or running.
Always a great experience. We had a beautiful day for the hike and the parking, trails and fellow hikers all contributed to a great time. The great views of Lake Mead added to the quality of this hiking trail.
Nice easy hike with some beautiful views of Lake Mead and some railroad history. The Tunnels are fun to hike through but be cautious and respectful to the bats resting inside 🦇
Love to ride my gravel bike on the trail. Its goodway to et to Hoover Dam.
