Confirmed from Hobart Woodland Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Easy 2.2-mile out-&-back trail through rare bur oak woods, ending at a picturesque lake.
What runners say about Hobart Woodland Trail
“Beautiful view of the lake/river at the end of the trail loop.”
A great trail to take off of the bike path. If you are looking for the trail, park your car at Robinson Lake Park, take the bike path east, and walk until you see the small sign for the woodland trail. It will probably be a 15 or 20 minute walk to the start of the trail.
I am 62 now.I discovered this trail many years ago when i lived farther north up in Griffith.I have rode three mountain bikes since i traded them in.So i kept coming here since the trail was created long ago.I now live in Wheatfield Indiana.
I was looking for a place to take my kids on a bike ride with relatively flat ground. We found this after a day of playing bouncy houses. This was a great trail to walk while I let them ride ahead of me. There was ample parking and even a playground right off the parking lot.
The start of a 10 mile ride, nicely shaded.Very nice trail , tables along the way.
