Confirmed from Countryside Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Countryside Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (457 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 3 mentions

“Plenty for him to explore, and everything is so well maintained and pretty, I'm never bored following him around.”

Did not even know this is 3 miles from my house. I found a new HIDDEN lake. Enjoying the fall colors.

Great family park. People have taken great care of disk golf course. Nice playground on North side of park. The fishing is always good here. Well kept and just off the bike trail. Also has the cleanest porta potty I've ever seen, lol!

★★★★★ — Jeanine , May 2020

Don't really want to share this little gem with ya'll but it's our favorite sledding Hill.

★★★★★ — Christina , Feb 2022

This is my favorite park in Portage! Mainly because I am an avid disc golfer and they have one of the nicer courses in the area. There is also a great walking path that runs through the entirety of the park that I guarantee most people don't even know it's back there. It's great for all seasons.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says

  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
