Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Stunning views, good hikes. We thoroughly enjoyed visiting all the spots and taking nice pictures of nature around Hocking Hills. We came on Saturday and Sunday (12/27-12/28), and to be honest it was quite busy for us. Can’t imagine how packed it gets in the summer.

Words can’t describe how wonderful of a trip we had to Hocking Hills. We lucked out with weather and the crowds were manageable, almost non existent in some spots. Come prepared to walk with lots of water!

★★★★★ — Ellen , Mar 2026

We stopped in at Hocking Hills State Park on a weekday in early October. It had been a while since we last visited the park. We were shocked at how popular the park was as the parking area was packed. We noticed that visitors were from all over the country.

A great State park for free , no state park entry fee. Upper falls is a short walk from the visitor center, then you can take the one way trail to lower falls . There are different spots where you can drive up to the parking lot and then take a short trail to reach the spot.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
