Confirmed from Houghton Land Preserve's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Gorgeous trails and view. In certain areas, you can see Corning through the trees. On your way up the blue trail, there is a gorgeous view of mountains. Well kept, easy trails that are well shaded for warmer weather. Trails can get muddy, so bring some shoes that are good for mud.

I was only there for a short walk doing Geocaching with my patients that I take care of to pass by the time on a double. The hike was nice mostly uphill small grade but walking back down was faster lol.

Beautiful walking trails with a variety of wildlife- lots of cool slugs, mushrooms, and salamanders (particularly on the top of the white trail). Also found an awesome Io Moth caterpillar on the blue trail. Interesting birds calling all around- woodpeckers included.

Such a peaceful place for a short walk in the snow. Super easy access from Corning right near Corning Community College.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
