Confirmed from Howdershell Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Paved park featuring two playgrounds, as well as a ninja workout course, plus a tennis court and a baseball field.
What runners say about Howdershell Park
This is a pleasant park tucked away in a neighborhood. There's a wide, paved walkway looping the park, toilets, and a shelter with tables. I didn't notice a playground, per se, but there was what seemed to be an exercise / obstacle course with a spectator stand.
Great park! I've had my daughter's birthday party here twice and it's always been a good time, they have nice playground sets and a new ninja course (that I haven't tried yet) but others have seemed to enjoy it. Not much of a wow factor on beauty of the park.
Nice, small neighborhood park with walking path. Path is half mile one time around. Park has a pavillion with picnic tables, bathrooms, two playgrounds, and Ninja equipment. Plenty of parking. Parking lot is accessible from Howdershell Rd.
Always a nice park to visit, nice trail to walk and lots of stuff for the kids to do too. My dog loves all the trees there are to sniff!

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
