We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Huntington Woods yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Former estate land, now a section of Pelham Bay Park with forest, marsh & shoreline areas.
What runners say about Huntington Woods
“I mean who doesn't love nature got some beautiful shots on my camera.”
“Quiet, undeveloped woodland with a path to a rocky mini-beach on Long Island Sound.”
“Family friendly, upgraded park, field and walkways.”
Breathtaking views. Nice place to come for a summer/fall hike, or to smoke a dooby!!
Quiet, undeveloped woodland with a path to a rocky mini-beach on Long Island Sound. Not a lot of people there -- mostly locals walking their dogs. As others have noted, some visitors leave their beer cans behind, which detracts from the experience.
My hideaway place.. it’s very secluded, easy to miss, and off grid. Not many people back there, and the views are calm, still, and pretty. To walk to the water, it’s a bit of a nature trail. It is marked and can be followed. Pay attention.
