Confirmed from Independence Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Laid-back, waterfront 50-acre park with a boat ramp, fishing pier & a 1-mile walking/jogging trail.

What runners say about Independence Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (346 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 5 mentions

“If you ever want to just sit and relax a have one of the most beautiful views of the sunset this is the place, also the fish don’t bite.”

🌾 quiet & peaceful 6 mentions

“There is a quiet lake for boating although you will need to purchase a boating license and register your watercraft in order for you to be able to use it.”

I stopped by to fish at this place about a week ago. Quiet peaceful area with a small fishing dock and ramp to launch boats maybe? not too sure because there was not a single water craft there. I caught a largemouth bass and missed a bite. I've seen nice people walking and exercising around the area.

This park is a secret delight. There is a quiet lake for boating although you will need to purchase a boating license and register your watercraft in order for you to be able to use it.

Nice and beautiful park in Missouri City. Every time I go, there's almost no people, so I get to relax, enjoy the view, and just enjoy the moment. The lake is great for fishing, canoeing, or both if you're into that stuff. There's also a nice, easy, shirt trail with beautiful views of the lake.

★★★★★ — Heriberto , Jan 2022

Nice place to walk used to be great fishing until the people came and illegally netted all the fish don't know if they stock it but I haven't caught nor have I seen anyone catching anything out of there in years

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
