Confirmed from Indian Brook Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

“Beautiful, quiet, refreshing, and a great place for a day walk.”

One of my favorite stomping grounds back when I was a kid. The town took it over and cleaned it up. Great place to spend a day enjoying the water. Nature trails around the entire reservoir, fishing, small craft (canoes) allowed, camping at the far end, dog friendly ( but you must be able to voice control your dog),no…

Great park, clearly marked trails. Wasn't crowded at all on a weekday afternoon. Folks, heads up that the website tells you to get a day pass from Essex parks and rec, you actually just get it at the park when arrive.

Absolutely stunning. A well tended trail with beautiful sights. You need to buy a pass from Essex Parks and Rec.

Great place to relax, walk your dog, and enjoy nature. Hike, run and walk the trails. Kayak during warmer months and swim at your own risk. No entree fee during off season but still well maintained. I believe you must be an Essex resident to access the park during open season. Perfect spot for picnics.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
