Confirmed from Maple Street Park and Pool's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Playground, plus a kid-friendly pool and skate park in a sprawling recreational space.
What runners say about Maple Street Park and Pool
“There is a nice clean playground for kids with plenty of stuff to do, and areas for people to relax and enjoy the view.”
“The pool is a great place for kids of all ages.”
Best park for miles! We live over an hour away and still take the time to drive up here every month or so just to spend time here. Especially great in the summer time, where we can use the pool and the skate park, and the mountain bike area.
Conveniently located park and pool for kids and family. We visited during their holiday light display. Currently, its the best free light walk in Chittenden county. Great energy dude. I learned how to swim here, and played baseball when was a kid in the 90s.
Great place for all ages to recreate. Multiple play structures, (including toddler size), softball, tennis, volleyball, mt bike trails, pool with water features and huge spiral slide. This location has plenty of benches, to relax and pavilions to rent for gatherings.
The pool is a great place for kids of all ages. The kid's pool is large for a kid's pool and they can walk into it as it gets deep slowly. Wonderful slide as well and regular pool with diving boards as well. Anyone can go but non residents of essex junction need to pay eight dollars a visit.
Trail conditions & character
“kids love going here in summer between the large fields, playgrounds, pool, baseball, bike ramps etc also near Christmas the light/music walk!”
“The only downside was the restrooms need to be repaired and given a coat of paint.”
“It's huge and has great setups for ADA.”

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
- At the trailheadrestrooms — reported by runners
- Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
