We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of J Kenneth Smith Bird Sanctuary and Nature Center yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Park with trails for walking and bird watching, as well as benches and a pond.
What runners say about J Kenneth Smith Bird Sanctuary and Nature Center
“This Bird Sanctuary was soooo beautiful you could wildlige everywhere and the creek was very pretty.”
“At the time, very peaceful the weather was 65° we even had a nice little rain action going on this morning.”
Peaceful place to walk or sit and watch the birds. They offer food for you to feed them as well.
My husband and I walk daily, and we love these trails. They can take you for miles when you see how they connect to Enchanted Hills Park on the west and Cahoon Patk on the east!! We feel safe in these areas and everything is very clean and well cared for. Springtime is a perfect time to walk these trails.
Interesting trail feed is available free at the can at the start of the trail. The ducks swarm in when you bring them the feed.
The Bird Sanctuary has a few areas to just sit and relax, watch birds, butterflies, and squirrels. Soon there will be nice flowers. Very relaxing. Of course I was not there for that. But after my walk, it was a nice place for my cool down.
