Confirmed from Jack Hyde Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Relaxed waterfront spot providing a pier and a dock for paddleboarding, fishing and relaxing.
What runners say about Jack Hyde Park
“Beautiful views and nicely maintained grounds.”
“A beautiful waterfront park that pays tribute to the Chinese population in Tacoma that were forced out of their homes in the 1880s.”
Peaceful place to go for a walk or jog. Clean and well kept. Sometimes other people can be loud or not watching their children which makes for not such a great time.
This is a beautiful little park right next to the Tacoma Chinese Reconciliation Park. There is a nice path which you could access on a wheelchair, but if you're able to go "off" the trail a little (be aware of vegetation!), there is a great spot right near the water.
A beautiful waterfront park that pays tribute to the Chinese population in Tacoma that were forced out of their homes in the 1880s. It's a scenic, flat trail along the waterfront that's great for a stroll or leisurely walk with a furry friend.
Awesome little park to walk around the beach and enjoy a nice sunny day. There are a bunch of really cool structures you can walk around and explore. If you go down to the water you can frequently see tons of baby crabs around the rocks.

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.

- At the trailheadrestrooms — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
- Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
