Confirmed from Jamesburg Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
This preserved natural area features trails, a wetland habitat & many species of plants & animals.
What runners say about Jamesburg Park
“the park has a nice area with a lake view children playing section which is a beautiful area.”
“So far it seems well maintained and well marked but will print out a map from their website so I don't get lost!”
Beautiful mixed forest park. One of the best in the area for summer and fall stroll. Comfortable wide and well-marked hiking trails. You won't get lost there, but the white trail, for example, crosses itself four or five times, so having a trail map with you will be helpful if it's your first time there.
Pretty decent sized park with a lot of trails. Has a little more wild feel to it than your average park in NJ. Also, it's not in Jamesburg, but in East Brunswick, Helmetta and Spotswood. Perhaps they should change the name to the Jamesburg State Tick Preserve and Lyme Disease Dispensary... so be careful.
This place is a hidden gem that I stumbled upon quite by accident one day. Just started exploring the many wide trails. So far it seems well maintained and well marked but will print out a map from their website so I don't get lost! Ticks? Yes there are ticks. You're in the woods!
the park has a nice area with a lake view children playing section which is a beautiful area. But, if walking the Wooded trail which is on the other side of the road of Helmetta, there's a lot of bugs ticks, chiggers, mosquito. Bring a lot of bugs spray for yourself and you pets, if walking on that side of the trails.

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
