Confirmed from Johnson Ridge Small Wild Area's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Johnson Ridge Small Wild Area
“Beautiful area for hikes, fishing, and just to get away for a picnic.”
“It is very peaceful once you walk far away from the trailhead.”
Amazing place for just under a two mile hike. Nice clear trail that is still an adventure with tree roots and rocks to navigate over. The trail route has you in the woods the whole time walking right next to the water for over 3/4 the trail.
Very nice little loop. It's like every bend has its own personality! Highly recommended.
Great little place to get away for a quick hike and enjoy the views around Cherokee Lake. Note - only 5 parking spaces and one of those is handicapped. Trail loop is about 1.7 miles and pretty much flat the whole way. Closes at dark.
Nice trail but didn't get to finish because someone was hunting very close by. Had to leave because the shots were a little unnerving and got closer the further I walked the trail. Just a heads up to anyone heading out here!
