Confirmed from Johnson-Springview Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Johnson-Springview Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (1,615 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 7 mentions

“The ample bark on the grounds prevents mud and muck, and the park is well-maintained by staff and volunteers.”

🏞️ beautiful scenery 11 mentions

“It has a great community energy, but it is huge enough that you can always find your own space under the gorgeous heritage oak trees.”

Love this park. There's something for everyone. Splash pad, covered picnic tables, play structures & encloses dog park. It also has an 18 hole disc golf course, skate park & HUGE grassy field for the kiddos or dogs to play and run. Plenty of bathrooms is a huge plus for anyone with littles!

★★★★★ — Karin , Jul 2021

I love this park especially for the tennis and pickleball courts. They have pickleball lines painted on all 3 courts so you can play either game. They also have a giant wide open field, a skate park, a basketball court, a roller rink, baseball fields, cross country trails, a water park, a dog park, as well as water…

★★★★★ — Andre , Oct 2024

Pretty big park. Lots of area to wander and explore. Large, dedicated fields for disc golf, unlike other parks. Few stream crossings for the stream that cuts the park. Lots of desire paths for cutting across fields.

★★★★☆ — James , Jan 2022

Small but Mighty!! My go-to for my daily walk. I have frequented this park for over 20 years - always impressed by cleanliness and proud to be part of a small neighborhood community that steps up to lend a hand without looking to be rewarded in some way.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🐕 Dog-friendly 20 mentions

“There is plenty to do here including disc golf, swing set, dog training, tennis, picnicking, playground fun, water grounds, and an outdoor party area for the public.”

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
  • At the trailheadparking, restrooms, water — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
  • Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
