Confirmed from Johnstone Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Historic, centrally located park by the river's bend with a playground, picnic area & many trees.
What runners say about Johnstone Park
“Well maintained and patrolled regularly both times I've been there.”
“The bike path runs alongside the river/creek, has lots of good shady spots, and the pavement is smooth enough for my inlines to handle well.”
There is a few trails around the river! A workout station for crossfit, and swing sets for the kids. Loved how big and secluded it was for being in town as well. Also every year before Thanksgiving you can walk the lights!!
I skate down the trail here fairly often. It's a nice area for the most part, and there's a cute playground near the entrance for the kids. During the summer I think they open up a carousel and some other fun amenities too!
Love this old park......if you love nature and a little walking, this is the park. One of my favorite parks for getting the opportunity to capture (Camera) some of the Beautiful bird's that migrate through or that just stay in our community.
Great place to catch some shade on a hot Oklahoma day without any undesirables hanging around. Well maintained and patrolled regularly both times I've been there. Great place to excersise the dog.

“Only negative is that someone had distorted the men's bathroom.”
“Lots of nice short little walking paths if you go straight back from the Cherokee St entrance, pavilions, grass, and tons of parking.”

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
- LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
- Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
