Confirmed from Joliet Iron Works Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Tranquil park and historical ruins of a steel factory, plus trails for biking and walking.
What runners say about Joliet Iron Works Park
Relaxing stroll with historic info. Links up to I&M Trail Decent amount of parking, clean trail easy walking.
Saw the historic site and walked further on the trail to see the waterfall. Very interesting park.
This is a neat little spot if you have a bike or want to do a walk. I had dogs and it was fine. There was a working water fountain at the start of the trail. Cool history preserve. Would probably be very boring for toddlers-teens but babies and “boring” people might enjoy the sounds of nature.
Very interesting little piece of Joliet history. There are signs along the path to explain what building used to stand in the place of the ruins. Neat stuff.
