Confirmed from Jones Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Large, forested park with miles of trails for hiking, mountain biking & cross-country skiing.
What runners say about Jones Park
“very beautiful & peaceful trail”
“Great trails for mountain biking, though not always well marked and can be tough to follow sometimes.”
“Nice for nature walks, dog and kid friendly.”
Awesome hiking trails. Mountain biking is also good here but will require some skill. There are trails for all hiking skill levels. No restrooms. Paper map copies were unfortunately out.
It's a dog friendly park. For me and my young kids, it's a very good sized park with lots of interesting trails. We've tried to go there often around others' meal time to avoid crowds and it's been working out well.
Nice trail, lots of bubbling streams. Def make sure you're wearing appropriate shoes/boots for hiking. I have some knee issues and didn't bring my hiking staff which made going back down a few steep inclines challenging, and I'm sure it was quite comical to anyone who had seen me trying to go down lol.
We hiked and geocached 3.82 miles here. With all the rain, the trails were a bit muddy. There were several creek crossings, and we were glad we brought extra shoes and socks to change into after our hike. The bridge at the end was a welcome sight. Beautiful nature.
Trail conditions & character
“I've heard that some people do not follow the rule to keep your dog on a leash, which can be very unsettling if you're alone or running, but we didn't encounter anything like that.”
“Rooty rocky Creek access trail includes multiple challenging creek crossings.”
“Great place to go off-roading and camping I definitely recommend, it is also pet friendly and a good size parking area, cabins are also available”
“Great trails for mountain biking, though not always well marked and can be tough to follow sometimes.”
“The only downside is that I'm not sure where a public restroom is.”

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
