Confirmed from Kakiat Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
This 376-acre park has paths for hiking & horseback riding, plus diverse topography & wildlife.

Lots of wildlife and a much larger river than expected. Great hike to the top with many vistas along the route. The Mahwah river is impressive and feels like you must be in the Wild West rather than a few minutes from NYC.
We really enjoyed strolling through Kakiat Park. The grounds are really well maintained, there is lots of parking, parking is completely free, additionally there are park benches, tables, and grills. I would highly recommend this park for hiking and or walking.
Really beautiful, clean park! Ample parking, lots of shade to sit & hang out, cute little stream to check out. We did the orange trail, be prepared as this is not a "hike" as much as actual rock climbing. We are not experienced climbers nor hikers but it is was manageable for us.
Good amount of parking. There is a nice picnic area on the way to that trails. There is also a dog park. I started on the mountain trail, but stopped halfway through because it was slippery and covered with leaves. I then took the Old Mill trail. It was a flat, clear trail that runs next to the Mahwah River.
