I go to the Katy trail many times every year. The paths are fairly level and well maintained. With 240 miles to explore you can see something new with every trip. Views along the Missouri river and throughout the wooded areas are beautiful. If hiking or biking is your thing, you will never get bored here.
Great place to put your bike in, not too far from downtown St. Charles. Even on a beautiful day, I found this parking lot to be darn near empty. This trail head boasts a good-size pavilion, as well, and is a trail head for another nearby park’s trail!
We have rode our bikes on many sections of the Katie Trail in St Charles County. This section of trail north of the casino riverfront area was unexpectantly pleasant. Much of the trail had views of the Missoudi River and traveled through shaded forest. Farm fields filled with corn also came to view intermittently.
Great easy trail even with road tires. Only 12 mi today. It can get very dusty when the wind picks up. At one point I was blinded. However dust would not stop me from riding again.
