Confirmed from Knightdale Station Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

This park is very well designed for families. There is a nice playground and splash pad for kids, picnic areas and a YMCA pool. Relax and contemplate nature walking around the park. There is a white line on the path that is a Mile for you to walk around.

Knightdale station park is a staple area in Knightdale. It has shelters that you can rent through the towne of Knightdale for various events. There's plenty of parking. There's open areas for play, practice, and picnics. They have public restrooms that are usually well kept.

Family friendly!!! I was there on the 4th of July, It was perfect for families with young children. It had a water sprinkler area for the kids to run through. The fireworks show was great, until the end. It was not the parks fault, nor the fault of the city officials who had the festival going on that day.

Loved it. Large area. Pavilions, plenty of picnic stations, beautiful pond, kids play area and splash park, and the white line walking/running trail was excellent! Has a very nice dog park with a gravel ground mixed with large rocks and shady trees. The dog park has a separate area for dogs under 25 lbs. Very nice!

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

Plan your run at Knightdale Station Park

The practical stuff

  • AccessDawn to dusk — the gates close, so do not plan a run that finishes after dark
  • SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
  • At the trailheadparking, restrooms, water — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
  • Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
