Confirmed from Knollwood Conservation Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Knollwood Conservation Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (32 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 9 mentions

“It's a nice park with lots of beautiful native plants but there's lots of invasive plant thats been killing and taking over”

🌾 quiet & peaceful 3 mentions

“This is a gorgeous, peaceful slice of heaven.”

This is a nice hiking spot. I didn't know this was here until recently and it was pretty hard to find the trail head, it's sort of built right up along a nice neighborhood. I took a wooded trail and a more prairie trail. I liked the wooded trail more. The hiking was not difficult and was nice for a casual walk.

★★★★☆ — Daniel , Jun 2020

I like going to this park for a relaxing and rejuvenating hike. There are multiple trails to hike and explore. During these hikes I have run into a variety of wildlife. Plus there are plenty of shaded areas to walk in when it is hot and open areas to meander when it is cooler.

Lots of trails that take you all over the place here. I wandered around enough to where I was near the trail that goes underneath the beltline, connecting to the Arboretum. It will definitely take you all day to explore every trail of this place, but it'll be worth it.

★★★★☆ — Rebecca , Sep 2019

Awesome hike through hills, prairie, and trees. A hidden gem! Lots of turkeys and sandhill cranes. I always spot a wide variety of birds too.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
