Confirmed from Kohlmann Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Riverside expanse with a playground, shelters and an amphitheater for events.
What runners say about Kohlmann Park
“They clean the public bathroom and fill the hand sanitizer station daily.”
“With a walking trail going through it as well as neat sculptures and a beautiful staged area that is lit up.”
This is a darling Riverside Park period there is a fun playground for smaller children, a Band Shell with great music in the summer, and restrooms available when the temperature is not freezing. There are multiple picnic shelters and also picnic tables without shelters. There is a water fountain near the restroom.
Its so beautiful. It has a lake and a beautiful long bridge. There's also this piece of art that's beautifully huge. The park isn't bad either. There's a place to picnic and a trail close by-walking distance.
A very nice peaceful park. We enjoyed walking thru it and came back to sit and eat our lunch. Loved the big band music playing over the speakers.
I go there with my children to the park. Its right along the cedar river. It’s a nice clean park. With a walking trail going through it as well as neat sculptures and a beautiful staged area that is lit up. It’s great for family outing, just getting away and enjoy being outside with a nice scenery.

The practical stuff
- AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
- SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms, water — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
