The park is deceptive. From Layton Ave. it appears to be just another small, Urban park but that is simply not the case. This park runs deep. There are 2 softball diamonds and a batting cage, sand volleyball courts, multiple standing exercise units, multiple children play areas, multiple picnic areas, an amphitheater…
I visited Konkel Park for the Farmer's Market. While small the Market offered a variety of goods from vegetables, breads, pies, honey, maple syrup and a variety of beverages ☕️. I visited early to try to avoid heat and crowds, which worked.
I've been here for great concerts. However, I just discovered the park entire park. I parked at the south end. I was amazed walking though to the amphitheatre. The landscaping was impressive. There are many trees, meadows, walking paths which appealed to my spirit. There's much, much for "boys and girls of all ages".
A beautiful park with very nice walking trails, baseball field, mini golf, tennis courts, and free movies in the park!
