Confirmed from Kordiak Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Neighborhood park for walking, with trails circling a lake, plus a playground for kids.
What runners say about Kordiak Park
“Beautiful park to relax and enjoy… I definitely recommend in the morning time.”
“The combination of sun, shade, breeze and wonderful company (my wife and dog) made it a very pleasant experience.”
“In my world one of the only places that's peaceful in Columbia Heights.”
Great park to take the dogs for a walk! You can do the loop all the way around the lake, you just have to go through a few blocks of residential. Would also be a nice picnic spot - lots of big charcoal grills available! And there’s even a fire pit that the Eagle Scouts built. 👍🏼
Kordiak Park is a great place for birds - especially green herons, blue herons, wood ducks, and the more common mallards, geese, blackbirds, etc. Also, various types of turtles.
There's a path that goes around a pond, when you reach street, just keep going right and the path continues. The street part is worth it for the butterfly gardens alone. Peaceful, beautiful, and easy. Don't miss the butterfly videos. 🌼🦋
Really nice park for a variety of activities - walking, running, nature viewing, picnics, playground, bonfire, weddings, group gatherings. The trails are paved and route along the lakeshore. On our Spring walk we saw so many turtles (painted turtle and snappers), geese, ducks, and robins.
