Confirmed from Kress Farm Garden Preserve's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Preserve with native plants, wildflowers and 5 hiking trails that include caves to explore.
What runners say about Kress Farm Garden Preserve
“Needs Farm has four nice hiking trails and then a beautiful nursery with annuals and perennials for sale!”
“The hikes are clearly marked and show up on the AllTrails App.”
“Fairly easy hike, with a couple moderate hills coming back up from the caves.”
Great hidden gem! Only open 9-3. A long gravel road leads you to the farm. Loop is one way, enter the loop on the left and follow the signs (Google tells you to turn right). You can park next to the building that says restrooms and store.
Fairly easy hike, with a couple moderate hills coming back up from the caves. Beautiful scenery, and well maintained trails. The volunteers I came in contact with, were very friendly and helpful. They close at 3 pm daily ...
Ran by volunteers who love being there. Theyre working on the importance of native plants. I spent several hours here with my partner on a Monday. (Off season they arent open every day. That happens in May?) Even got a tour of their green house. Has a waterfall and 3 cliff shelters.
What a wonderful place to explore there are multiple trails and an awesome cliff/cave overhang that you can hike to and explore. The farm is manned by an army of volunteers that tend the gardens and ready plants for purchase.

“I think all the trails, aside from the bluebird trail, are a mix of open grassland, shady forest, sandy dirt, and rocky landscapes.”

- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
