Confirmed from Lackawanna River Heritage Trail - Meredith Street Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
State park featuring a paved hiking and biking trail that's well-lit, plus picnic tables.
What runners say about Lackawanna River Heritage Trail - Meredith Street Trailhead
“Great place to walk the dog, clean and well maintained trail goes from behind sheetz in Carbondale to about half a mile away in mayfield and back for a full mile.”
“A beautiful trail that stretchs a long distance between towns.”
Love this trail. Plenty of parking in Carbondale across from the YMCA. This trail connects with the D&H trail in Simpson, then travels another 18 miles to Ararat. Crushed gravel with varied scenery. Great stop at Cable's Deli around the 11 mile mark before traveling to Ararat.
Love this trail. Often start off at the Simpson or Forest City openings and bike or walk. Great for family time. Trails are pretty clean and no ATV's are allowed on. Gravel paved, good for biking. Nice way to get some exercise. I find the Simpson portion heading towards Forest City to be nice and shady as a bonus.
A beautiful trail that stretchs a long distance between towns. Nice for hiking walking running or biking. The parts of the trail I have seen were paved and well lite which was very nice!
Nice looking trail next to a fast moving river. Unfortunately when I arrived it was raining and could not enjoy the trail. Hope to be able to stop back at another time.
