Confirmed from Lafitte Greenway's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
2.6-mile bike & foot trail connecting neighborhoods, with outdoor fitness parks & basketball courts.
What runners say about Lafitte Greenway
“The football field and basketball courts are well maintained and clean.”
“The Greenway is a beautiful way to safely bike, skate, or walk across the city without the worry of being struck by a car, and it features a variety of amenities along the way.”
LaFitte Greenway is absolutely great! A continuous bicycle and walking path from Basin street all the way to Carrollton Avenue. The street crossings have a push button to stop traffic and so much more. There are bicycle tire inflation stations, workout and fitness equipment, tennis and basketball courts and more.
Love this little park/walking path. It was a job well done with a clearly strong effort by the city and the locals to make this place a desirable destination for locals and tourists alike. The playground is one of the best I've seen, and there is even a "play area" for adults with exercise equipment.
Well-designed and very walkable urban greenway in New Orleans. The south end is within walking distance from the French quarter and the north end is walking distance from City Park. Connects multiple neighborhood and parks and passes by a couple places where you can step off the trail to a coffee or food place.
Peaceful area to walk with lots of trees if you want to avoid traffic. There's some great educational signage about the trees and plants. Some cyclists can learn to be more friendly with pedestrians. More seating areas, native wildflowers, and flowering shrubs on the empty side would be lovely.
