Confirmed from Lake Charlotte Nature Preserve Main Entrance's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Lake Charlotte Nature Preserve Main Entrance

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (15 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🌾 quiet & peaceful 3 mentions

“The trails aren't very well established yet though and they dead end pretty quickly but there's a nice bit of scenery and quiet to enjoy.”

👟 good for all levels 2 mentions

“Wide and easy walking trail with some elevation at a couple points.”

Hidden gem for hiking ITP! Atlanta City Parks and Rec will need a parking plan once people start discovering this forest oasis in the city. It’s like a miniature Chattahoochee National Park on the Southside.

This trail is right across the street from my house and really pretty. The trails aren't very well established yet though and they dead end pretty quickly but there's a nice bit of scenery and quiet to enjoy.

Very clean. Nice, most of the trail down is gravel road. Then you can take some Loops that become natural path. There are additional little offshoot trails to different home sites, or what's left, sometimes nothing more than a pad, sometimes some really pretty rock work and the occasional chimney.

★★★★★ — Andrew , May 2026

Wide and easy walking trail with some elevation at a couple points. Most of the trail is a gravel road type. Cool little creek as you get to the other side of the trail from the entrance side. Only really one actual parking spot, but the road isn't all that busy so parking on the side of the road is fine.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
