Confirmed from Lake View Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Relaxed park with a dog run, grills and a playground plus views of Lake Michigan.
What runners say about Lake View Park
“It's clean and at the end of the day I have tired and happy dogs.”
“Beautiful park this time of year (winter).”
“It's quiet , great place to take the dog to the beach & run of the leash, not alot of dogs to contend with.”
“Nice clear water, Sandy beach, dog friendly”
Peaceful early am walk on beach located just east immediately of park area
Dog friendly park. It's great to take the dogs to the beach and let them run and swim, then walk on the trails. We take a backpack with a picnic lunch and dog treats and spend hours there. It's very peaceful and relaxing for me, and the dogs have an absolute blast.
It's quiet , great place to take the dog to the beach & run of the leash, not alot of dogs to contend with. it is clean, not a lot of bugs ( fleas, ticks, ect,). Plus, if the pooch is up for it, there's small fire pits around for a sunset & a campfire.. paths to the beach could be improved.
Beautiful sunrise watch spot.. Also one of the designated dog run areas in the city.. There are pavilions that you can rent for events. The only negative thing about this place is that it is located right next to the wastewater treatment facility, so when the wind is right, it gets quite stinky..

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
