Confirmed from Lake Wailes Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Relaxed park featuring basketball courts and playgrounds, as well as a long paved trail around a lake .
What runners say about Lake Wailes Park
“It’s an excellent place to walk, enjoy a beautiful view of the lake, play with the family intervening in pure nature, you can sit and play with the children outdoors🤩🤩🤩”
“Many of the large trees appear to have Spanish moss dangling from their branches, and they provide plenty of shade, perfect for picnics.”
“Needed a stop to stretch my legs and Lake Wailes Park is a peaceful, pretty spot for a refreshening walk.”
I go here pretty much everyday. It's great for walking, running, biking, picnicking, sun bathing, etc.
It's a lovely park with a nice breeze coming off the lake and my kids had a blast. A couple of things I'd like to see in the future: -More benches directly under the large oaks for shaded seating - the big kid play area should be under a canopy bc it gets HOT here Otherwise it was great!
A nice long paved trail. Perfect if you are pushing a stroller. There is little shade along this trail, so keep that in mind. There is some wildlife to see, but this trail mostly just offers a lakeview and assorted park features along the trail. The gazebo is very beautiful
