Lake Wilderness has a bicycle trail next to it, so it is an easy destination by bike. It has a beautiful playground for the kids, small beach area, view of Mt. Rainier and is one of the few remaining places where you can rent canoes (kayaks also available). There is a small botanical garden next door for free too.
Nice public park around the lake with great view of Mt Rainier from northside( close to the lodge). Ample parking available. Lake with a small beach is added advantage for swimming and water amusement. The fishing deck looks so nice for an evening relax. Lots of picnic table around and near the lake.
I love visiting parks so stopped here when I had some time to spare. They have entertainment in summer and seems like a great spot to put in a kayak or paddle board.
Lake wilderness is an accurate name for this park because you do feel as if you are surrounded by wilderness and not a sprawling suburbia. Open 365 days a year for swimming, plenty of benches and picnic shelters. Plenty of trails. Nice sandy beach for swimming and a dock to jump off of.
