We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Lakefront Trail yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Lakefront Trail
“As a part of my Sperm Donation World Tour of the USA, I went for an early morning jog on this trail beautiful and lots of others soaking up the early morning sun.”
Used this trail to walk Lakeshore Drive between Oak Street Beach and Navy Pier. It is an easy, flat trail with very little incline. I saw people walking, running, walking dogs, and riding bikes. There were spots on the trail where people laid out towels and sat to enjoy the views and breeze off of the lake.
Amazing and beautiful view! I felt realizing and safe to waking by myself. Very clean and organized. I was surprised to find lanes for walkers/runners and also for bikes.

Great spot to walk and bike along the lake. Have separate lane for each direction of travel including bike lanes
