Confirmed from Lakeland Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

“Very beautiful place very comfortable and very captivating”

From Long Bar Rd, just follow the "TRAILHEAD PARKING" signs. Large gravel parking area with access to several trails, the old train tunnel, and the diversion pool.

★★★★☆ — Gary , Mar 2020

Favorite place to go ride. Riding through the tunnel is so fun. Lots of gravel when riding the levee. Soft dirt trails throughout the rest of the trails. 🐴🤠

★★★★★ — Shonnalee , Sep 2022

Could use better maintenance. Has some picnic tables & Porta-poties. Quiet and out of the way. Easy trail access.

★★★★☆ — John , Dec 2020

Yeah it is a little primitive but that's part of the outdoor experience, also called the Brad Freeman trail.. Right along the Oroville dam discharge "river" on the lower part but it loops up into the low hills if you do the whole trip.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
