Confirmed from Lakes By the Bay Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Lakes By the Bay Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (618 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🌳 shaded & cool 5 mentions

“Soccer, softball volleyball walking, jogging course lots of natural trails but I didn't go to any might be wildlife animals I don't wanna see😁😳 play area for kids mostly shaded.”

Great park to go and enjoy some fresh air and relax. Due to Covid-19 most sporting events there have been cancelled. There is a new activity they added way in the back of the park. It’s the new kayak launching pad. There are parking spots for your vehicle and space to walk around.

Lakes by the Bay Park is a pretty good size Park and great for running as well as cycling or playing some sports out in the field. Decided to take my bike the other day over there and even went on the Cutler Bay trail that's basically tucked in the corner.

★★★★★ — Carlos , Aug 2022

Very big park with lots of things to do and plenty of field to play on even when there are other teams there. Great park for the kids and nice to walk around. Only bad side is the BUGS. Lots of mosquitos and no see ums aka sand fleas. But that's what bug spray is for. Also its very safe

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

Plan your run at Lakes By the Bay Park

The practical stuff

  • AccessDawn to dusk — the gates close, so do not plan a run that finishes after dark
  • SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
  • LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
  • At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
  • Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
