Poppies were beautiful! They were easy to find thanks to red flags on the trail, and once we arrived there was a table with a guestbook, scavenger hunt for kids, and free stickers. 0.5 miles from the trailhead with a mild incline. The trailhead has restrooms and a pavilion with picnic tables. Loved our visit!
The poppies were in full bloom, which brought a bit of a crowd for pictures. The views are beautiful. The remnants of the Lambert Homestead surrounded by mountains, wild roses, thistle, and poppy blossoms make it look like something out of the Scottish highlands.
Beautiful hike. Get there early because it is super crowded when the poppies are in bloom.
Beautiful. Especially during the poppy season. The walk/hike isn't steep. Very kid friendly. I would recommend a hat or umbrella since there is very little tree cover, even around the poppy/rose area. No water fountains so I would take water even though it's a short hike.
