Confirmed from Las Gallinas Valley Birding Loop's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Nature preserve with a walking path for birding.
What runners say about Las Gallinas Valley Birding Loop
“The paths are all flat and pretty wide, so they’re accessible for folks of all ages and physical abilities.”
Great spot for bird and animal watching. The paths are all flat and pretty wide, so they’re accessible for folks of all ages and physical abilities. The parking lot can fill up, but it’s easy to just park on the road when that happens.
Just like it says, great loop walk to see a large variety of small and large birds. Bring binoculars and a great birding app called Merlin makes it fun to identify. great for adults and children. Flat and very little shade, so hot days probably not the best. It's a warm February and it's been delightful.
If you're into birding this is a great place to do it. You can just go to walk around as well. Bring your own water as there are no fountains I did see a wide variety of birds and a few deer.
It's my go-to place to lose track of time and see plenty of birds. Some months are less traveled by winged friends, but even then, I'll easily spot 20 species. Wide trails, flat and spacious-feeling.
