Confirmed from Latodami Nature Center's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

🌾 quiet & peaceful 6 mentions

“It was so peaceful my boyfriend and I actually fell asleep for a little bit.”

👟 good for all levels 3 mentions

“The pond at the bottom of the hill is a nice easy walk with turtles, fish and other animals.”

A very nice gem tucked into a quieter part of North Park. Nice, well maintained and easy walking trails throughout. A quiet pond. I remember park naturalist Joe Grom many years ago conducting school nature walks and activities when I was a school child.

Loved the trails off of this cute and educational little nature center! We did a bit of hiking though they were short trails and found the scannable QR codes along the nature trail to be really cool!

Nice nature area to birdwatch or look around. Very hilly though! Wear good walking shoes. Limited parking but not sure if this is usually a busy place.

★★★★☆ — Becca , May 2025

I took my boyfriend there in August for a little birthday picnic and it was perfect. It's not to busy, so you can really hear the sounds of nature. It was so peaceful my boyfriend and I actually fell asleep for a little bit. The little trails there reminded me of the book "the secret garden".

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
  • At the trailheadparking — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
